PRACTICE CHANGE FOR
TODAY!!
Please note that there has been
change to our normal practice schedule due to our YMCA hosting the
FAVC (Fort Ancient Valley Conference) High School Championships
tonight. No practice for the following groups: Mini Cuda, Jr. Cuda,
Barracuda and Blue. Red II, Red I, White II and White I will
practice from 3:30-5:00pm.
TYR and TEDDY BEAR
RESULTS
Our age group swimmers competed in
either the TYR meet at Keating or the Teddy Bear meet at Blue Ash
YMCA this past weekend. We had many LTB’s achieved as well as
Y League (AA) time standards. A special recognition to the
following swimmers for being champions in an individual
event/relay:
TYR Meet Champs: Andrew Devine
(100IM); Kate Overbey (25 breast); Joe Randazzo (1,000 free); Shay
Spelman (1,000 free); 8 & under Medley Relay: Uma Aguiar, Kate
Overbey, Madeline Hart, and Betsy Dulle. Great job

MINI CUDA PARENT/CHILD
PRACTICE
The Mini Cuda group will be having a
“bring your parent to practice night” this Wed. Feb
10th. Parents should arrive by 5:15pm. Please see Lisa
Rushman with questions.
PRE-COMP MEET
Our pre-comp team will be hosting a meet
at our YMCA on Feb. 13th. Warmups will start at 3:00pm and the
meet will begin at 3:30pm. Please see the home page of our website

MEET WORKER SIGN
UPS
K-T Overbey, our meet worker coordinator,
has posted the JOB SIGNUP link soon for the Y Sectional meet (March
5th-7th at our YMCA) and the Y League Championship
Meet (AA’s) at Miami University March 12th-14th. She sent a mass team e-mail regarding
this, so please be diligent about checking your e-mail and signing
up for your session. If you have questions as to which meet your
child is competing in, please contact your individual age group
coach. If you have questions regarding the actual meet sign-ups,
please contact K-T at overbey@fuse.net.
MARLIN TIME TRIAL
MEET
This meet is held at St. Xavier High
School on Tuesday, March 2nd. Please speak with your child’s
age group coach if you have questions as to whether your child can
attend this meet since there are certain time standards associated
with it. The deadline to register your swimmer for this meet is
February 12th.
OFFICIALS
INFORMATION
ABLY officials, alumni and friends: We
have some upcoming opportunities to wear our whites (and sometimes
our blues). We host – the sectional championship on March 5,
6 and 7. We also need to supply officials at the League Champs meet
to be held March 12-14th up at Miami University.

SPRING Y NATIONALS ROOM
RESERVATIONS - DEADLINE
Those families who are attending Y
Nationals in Ft. Lauderdale and need a room in our hotel block,
need to contact Cathi Sander (474-1400) with their credit card info
or drop off their check (payable to: M.E. Lyons YMCA) to her ($199
for a cityview/$219 for a waterview) by Feb.
15th. Please remember to include both your hotel deposit
reservation form and the supervision form
with your payment.

reservations for YAA Champs at Miami University March
12th-14th? Please see the HOTEL section of our
website for contact info. You must be logged in to view it. Please
note the block has already been released but they may still have
rooms. Call NOW!
PEP RALLY
Our annual pep rally will be held on
Sunday, February 28th. The time will be posted soon. Please
mark your calendar for this date. EVERYONE (yes, you too parents)
are encouraged to come and listen to our senior reps speak, do
cheers and get fired up for Y CHAMPS! Please remember to snap some
pictures of your child’s group in the next two months. You
will be able to e-mail them to Paul McDonald so we can try and
include them on our annual slide show at the swim team
Banquet.
KAST-A-WAY
Kast-a-way will be in the dome during the
Y Sectional Championships (March 6 & 7th). If you
need any last minute items, or are thinking ahead for the spring,
please stop by and purchase what you need.
AWARDS NIGHT
We will be holding our annual awards night
on Monday, April 19th at Nagel Middle School. The event
is scheduled to start at 6:30pm.

SENIOR BIO PACKETS
All parents of our graduating seniors (12)
have been e-mailed their senior bio packets to fill out and return
to Cathi in the swim team office. Please be diligent about
completing these since all this info eventually goes in to the
awards night handout as well as on the senior posters. Whitney
Campbell will be doing our posters again this year and needs time
to design these, so please be prompt on your
response/pictures.
