REGISTRATION DEADLINE

The deadline to register your
swimmer for the TYR Marlin meet (Feb. 5-7th) was January
1st!! Please check with your individual age group coach
if you have questions regarding this meet.
PCY INVITATIONAL
This meet is this Friday-Sunday
(Jan. 8-10th) at Miami University. Warmups for this meet
are: Friday: 4:30pm/Meet starts at 5:40pm. Saturday & Sunday:
warm-ups for 11 & overs are: 7:00am/Meet starts: 8:10am.
Saturday & Sunday warmups for 10 & unders are: 12:00pm/Meet
starts: 1:10pm. The invitational will have a “Wizard of
Oz” theme with special events planned throughout the
meet. There will be
special heats randomly selected for all age groups with giveaways
awarded to winners. A
Parade of Athletes for 10 & under swimmers will be held prior
to the start of the Sunday Session. The best-dressed team, according
to the theme, will be presented a special team spirit award during
the Sunday afternoon session. No Clerk of Course for this meet. No
food allowed on deck, only drinks. Directions: From Cincinnati: Take
Route 27 North from I-275. Turn left onto Chestnut Street;
right onto Oak Street.
Facility is on the left. Approximate driving time is 45 min.-
1hr.
RELEASE DATE FOR YMCA LEAGUE
CHAMPS APPROACHING
The release date for our hotel
block for 2010 YMCA LEAGUE CHAMPS (March 12-14th at Miami
University) is January 12th.
If you have not already made your reservations, please do so. As
always, our hotel information can be found on our website under
HOTELS, but you must be logged in to view it.
CARMEL INVITATIONAL
This meet will be held January
15th-17th at the IUPUI Natatorium in
Indianapolis, IN. The registration deadline has passed as has the
hotel block release date. You may still be able to get a
reservation however. Please check the HOTEL section of our website
(home page). You must be logged in to view this information.

TEDDY BEAR INVITATIONAL
The deadline to register your
swimmer for this meet is January
17th. This meet is held at Blue Ash
YMCA on February 5th-7th 2010. Please check
with your individual age group coach if you should register your
swimmer for this meet.
MARLIN TIME TRIAL
MEET
This meet is held at St. Xavier
High School on Tuesday, March 2nd. Please speak with
your child’s age group coach if you have questions as to
whether your child can attend this meet since there are certain
time standards associated with it. The deadline to register your
swimmer for this meet is February
12th.
OFFICIALS INFORMATION
The YMCA re-ceritification
class to be held at
our YMCA on January 9th has been postponed. However,
there are a number of Y and USA officiating opportunities coming
up. January 8-10, 2010 PCY is hosting a meet at Miami
University. You must be a Y official to work this meet.

Carmel Swim Club is hosting a meet at IUPUI in Indy (fantastic
facility). You must be a USA official to work this

Cincinnati Marlins is hosting a meet at Keating. You must be
a USA official to work this meet. Contact officials

BUT HAVING A STRONG SHOWING FROM ABLY OFFICIALS AND ALUMNI WOULD BE
GREATLY APPRECIATED.
JANET NEMANN MEMORIAL
EVENT
Turpin High School swim team is
sponsoring the Janet Nemann Memorial Relay Swim on Saturday Jan.
23, 2010 from 2-4 pm at the Turpin pool to benefit the
Neurosurgical Fund at UC's Neuroscience Institute. The entire
Turpin team will swim but wanted to open it up to other swimmers
who might be interested in supporting this great event.
Swimmers will swim in 30 minute shifts and will include lap
swimming, relay swims, and 'fun' races (like corkscrew
swims).
If any ABLY swimmers would like to
participate we would love to have them! They can contact Sally
Easley at
equussal1@aol.com or 474-5100 to express their
interest.
Donations will be accepted before
and during the event and are tax deductible.
PRE-COMP SESSION
Our next session of Pre-Comp starts
on Jan. 4th and runs to March 13th. The cost is $200. Only
"screened" swimmers can register for this practice group.
Registration is done through the front desk.
